Circular Chaise Lounges Vs Square

By Mandy Jacks

For a long time, I have enjoyed the appearance of round furnishings. They are distinct and intriguing without getting too complex or expensive. A round lounger like the Orbit Lounger is especially interesting because it is really versatile and for that reason more functional.

This got me thinking about the benefits and drawbacks of round loungers. Understanding the differences can make a buying decision simpler. Let's take a look at some of them here:.

Pro: Additional Seating.

A chaise lounge can of course be used for sunbathing. However, when laid flat, many round lounges can provide extra seating. Actually, they appear like a huge ottoman rather than a chaise lounge, so they do not look out of place when used at a party for additional seating.

Con: No Arms.

Round loungers generally have no armrests. While this might not matter to some people, to others, it is a downside. Armrests can be nice for resting your arms, but likewise can be used for affixing cup holders and various other accessories that put items in easy reach.

Pro: Better for Small Spaces.

Circular loungers fit much better in corners than the square variation. They take up less area, which can be crucial if you intend on utilizing the furniture indoors throughout the winter months. Yes, a square lounge can be used in a corner, but most likely not at the angle you like. The circular shape merely gives you more flexibility and options without needing to give up area.

Con: Less Accessible Replacement Parts.

Because round chaise loungers are less common, replacement cushions are occasionally tougher to locate. This is something to take a look at before purchasing a round furniture item. Does the company make replacement cushions? If you intend on utilizing your lounger for years to come, you don't want to be stuck with deteriorated cushions or broken parts.

Pro: Round Corners.

Round furniture does not have edges, clearly. If you have young children running around or have friends who are good at bumping into furniture, round items can be helpful and less painful. You could get hooked on round furnishings after you experience this advantage.

As far as comfort and function, a round lounger is essentially the same as the square or rectangular design. Both recline alike, provide about the same quantity of seating space and are normally just as long.
